Trees
Christiane's apples
I painted these beautiful apples before they were ripe on a hot July day in Christiane's orchard in Childwickbury
Bluebell woods in Batchwood
I have really enjoyed the bluebells this year (2021) and painted this view from Batchwood when the trees created such imposing shadows.
Unusual
I am always intrigued when something is a bit different. In the midst of many beautiful bluebells, the white ones are quite striking.
Chilwickbury (small)
I painted a smaller version of this view (the larger one can also be viewed on my web site) that brings me a lot of fond memories.
Bluebell woods in Heartwood forest
We are so lucky to have many beautiful places to see bluebells in the Spring. Heartwood forest is one of my favourites.
Bluebells in St Albans
There are so many places to see bluebells around St Albans. This painting was inspired by the Highfield woodlands.
Heartwood Forest in May
I never get bored visiting the the old part of Heartwood Forest when the bluebells are out. This year was no exception and I wanted to create a larger piece…
Childwickbury morning
Another beautiful morning at Childwickbury
Spring in Heartwood forest
Each Spring I go with my family for woodland walks to remind myself how beautiful and fragrant these delicate flowers are.
Evergreen
I love trees and evergreens are especially grand in the late summer. On super sale
Misty morning at Childwickbury
Currently exhibited at the Rothamsted Centre for Research and Entreprise, Harpenden. I have visited the Childwickbury estate and painted there over the course of nearly 5 years, with the support…
Old and Wise
I loved the complexity of this old tree, so much visible history of times passed.

Springtime
A beautiful cherry tree by the Danube.
In the woods
A few years ago I painted a series of trees two of which I sold, to the dismay of my son. This one remains in our home.
Dreaming in the New Forest
The New Forest is a magical place with velvety shadows, grand trees and shafts of golden sun. When I am there I believe in fairy tales.
Stairway
I love trees and a few years ago painted this beautiful tree from the perspective of somebody about to climb it. It is the first painting I sold.
